Establishing a community multimedia center (CMC)
This project consisted of three main activities, to build local capacity to use community media as tools for development, to establish the CMC facility, to facilitate the development of the CMC as a local community centre, resource and tool, and to integrate ethnographic action research into the implementation and operation of the CMC. CMC was established in the Sitakund, Upazilla of the Chittagong District in 2005. Activities will be extended in 2006.
 
 
Translating “How to Do Community Radio” into Bangla
A guide book” How to Do Community Radio” developed in English by UNESCO NEW Delhi was translated in Bangla. 1000 copies were printed. It was also distributed to West Bengal in India . The translated book was introduced and launched at the national consultation on community radio which was held in Dec 2005.
 
 
Conducting a national consultation on Community Radio
With cooperation of UNICEF, UNDP and 5 local NGOs, a 2-day national consultation workshop was conducted on the 6th and 7 th of December 2005. The workshop created good opportunities to discuss on the advantages and benefits that may be ensured though community radio communications among government officials, citizens, CBO, NGOs and donors. The follow- up meetings and activities will be carried out in 2006 to stat piloting community radio stations in Bangladesh .
